Qualifications Scotland Results 2026

14th Aug 2026

Earlier this month we welcomed the publication of another excellent set of examination results, the first under the auspices of our new national examination body, Qualifications Scotland.

This was yet another excellent set of grades for our youngsters with some brilliant individual performances and a great overall picture. In amongst pupils in Senior 5 and 6 achieving straight A Band 1 passes in their Highers and Advanced Highers respectively, and one Senior 5 pupil achieving an A pass in Advanced Higher Mathematics, special mention goes to three of our younger pupils – one in Senior 3, one in Transitus and one in Junior 6, who each achieved  strong A passes in their National 5 Mathematics examinations.

In Senior 5 there was an 89% A-C pass rate at Higher Grade, with 50% As and 22% Bs. Three pupils out of the 20 achieved 5 As, another pupil achieved 4 As in the HGs he sat AND an A in his Advanced Higher Mathematics, effectively four pupils out of 20 with 5 As. Several other pupils achieved 4 or 3 As in their subjects. In 2025, the pass rate was 90% A-C , with 37% As, 24% Bs. In 2024 the pass rate was 87%, with 52% As, 19% Bs and in 2023 the pass rate was 95%.

In Senior 6 there was  a 67% A-C pass rate, with 33% As, 24% Bs. This was our smallest  Senior 6 cohort for over two decades with a consequentially low number of presentations and the associated wide statistical variations that come with that. A number of our Senior 6 had already accepted unconditional offers before the exams and all bar one have secured their first-choice university places. The pass rate in 2025 was 81% A-C, with 52% As, 10% Bs and 94% in 2024, with 31% As, 44% Bs. The pass rate in 2023 was 88%, with 33% As & 33% Bs.

In Senior 4, there was a 94% A-C pass rate, with 50% As and 33% Bs; out of 22 pupils, 2 pupils achieved 8 As, another two scored 7 As and a further two 6 As. Several pupils scored three, four or five As.

As was the case last year, almost 1/3rd of the group achieved 6, 7 or 8 A passes. In 2025, there was an 87% A-C pass rate, with 62% As, 15% Bs. In 2024 there was an 88% pass rate, with 55% As, 20% Bs. In 2023 there was a 92% A-C pass rate and 90% in 2022.

The pass rate at National 4 was 100%.

These excellent results again reflect the hard work and effort of pupils and staff throughout the academic year. Our Senior School year groups typically range in size from 20 to 30 so inevitably there is always the potential for fairly wide statistical variation on such small sample sizes, but as you can see the School’s academic performance is highly consistent and very strong year-on-year.
