As part of the Senior 1 and 2 Science curriculum, our pupils visited The National Robotarium at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.
They participated in many hands-on robotics activities (such as robot football, robot building and Sphero races), toured the robotics labs, spoke to a working robotics engineer, and got to meet Spot the quadruped robot.
They also got the chance to speak to and interact with Ameka, a humanoid AI-powered robot, one of only 9 in the world and the only one in the UK. The day gave the pupils an inside look into the exciting world of robotics, AI and the application of these technologies in current and future settings.
