10th Oct 2024
On Tuesday 1st October, four pupils from Belmont House School took part in the Independent Schools round of the Enterprising Maths Competition at Fettes College. Kevin Dai, Mischel Ali, Lana Morris and Rayan Enosh participated in four rounds of mathematical challenges and problem solving. Round One was the Practical Round where the pupils had to make origami tetrahedrons, cubes and icosahedrons. Round Two was the Team Round where all four pupils worked together to solve mathematical problems. After lunch was a Speed Round where the pupils had seven minutes at eight stations in a carousel to solve a range of problems. The final round was the Relay Round; working in pairs, they took turns to answer as many questions as they could in 40 minutes. Although the team did not qualify for the next round of the competition all the pupils enjoyed the challenge.
Well done to everyone involved!
