Todd in Junior 6, performed in the Renfrewshire Association of Burns Clubs 2019 Regional Primary School Competition on 12th March. Todd recited “The Soldiers Return” a very long and complex poem.
We are proud to announce that he won his category of Recitations Primary 6 & 7 but there were two more surprises in store. Todd also won the best recitation of the whole competition and the Burnsian Award for the best performance of the competition which also included instrumental, piping and singing categories. He is now the proud custodian of two enormous silver quaichs which are awarded each year to the winners. This also means that Todd has qualified for the National Primary Schools Festival hosted by the Robert Burns World Federation which includes winners from all over Scotland. This will be held on Saturday 11th May in Irvine Royal Academy.
