Nurturing Potential
The caring ethos of the Junior School ensures a happy, focused and well structured environment for the academic, social and emotional development of all our pupils.
Our emphasis on achievement, tolerance, compassion and understanding, places high expectations of good manners and good behaviour from every child no matter their age.
In the early years, a strong focus on learning core skills in Mathematics and Language enables our pupils to progress successfully in other areas of the curriculum, which include:
- Social subjects
- Science and Technologies
- Expressive Arts
- Information and Communication Technology
- Religious and Moral Education
- Health and Wellbeing
In many areas, such as PE, IT, Music, Modern Languages (taught from Junior 1), and Art, our pupils benefit from being taught by Senior School subject specialists and access to Senior School facilities and resources.
The importance of citizenship, care for the environment and the children’s place in the global perspective are also central, while IT skills permeate the whole curriculum.
We strongly believe that learning should not be confined to the classroom, with regular educational trips, visiting groups and speakers enjoyed by our pupils to enhance their learning experience and bring reality to what is being taught.
