Adventures at Dundonald Castle

1st Jun 2023

Junior 4 visited Dundonald Castle as part of their interdisciplinary topic on The Scottish Wars of Independence. One of Scotland’s most unexplored and fascinating outdoor attractions, this heritage treasure was the historic home to Scots King Robert II, grandson of Robert the Bruce. It boasts historic links to the Stewart dynasty, the Wallace family, and the Cochranes, favourites of Charles II.

Our visiting pupils learned about medieval apothecary, made their own medicine, had a tour of the castle and enjoyed a fun game of jousting. The tour guide even complimented Junior 4 and said that they were a credit to their parents and Belmont House School.

Our thanks to all at Dundonald Castle for a brilliant trip through history!
