Modern Languages
In Modern Languages we encourage pupils to be independent, reflective learners who are supported in an environment which has high expectations as well as tailoring the learning experience of every pupil at every level; embracing innovative and enthusiastic methodologies such as Cooperative Learning as well as other cognitive learning techniques, and working closely with the Junior School.
French is taught throughout the Junior School, with Spanish introduced from Junior 5. Moving into Senior 3, almost all pupils study French as a core foreign language at either National 4 or National 5 and also have the option to study Spanish as an additional language. Both languages are available at Higher and Advanced Higher level.
