On Wednesday 11th November 2009, 5th year Higher Biology pupils attended the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland's One Day Global Classroom Conference held at Edinburgh Zoo.
The One Day Global Conference was to consider the issue; species reintroductions occur globally but are they always welcome and do they always work? During the day the students gained knowledge of national and international species reintroductions, acquired practical skills in species monitoring and debated contentious issues surrounding this topical science; namely the reintroduction of the wolf into Scotland. Furthermore the issues and theories discussed at the conference were embedded within the Higher Biology course and the event encompassed the 4 capacities of the Curriculum for Excellence.
